Sunrise — Contemporary Beni Ourain Moroccan Rug

This colorful Beni Ourain style rug was handwoven by a creative female artisan of the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. This particular piece took seven months for her to complete.  For her, weaving is a form of creative expression. Every carpet she weaves has a story to tell.

While traditional Beni Ourain rugs are known for their thick and lush white and black designs, this contemporary piece features bright colors in 100% wool. Beni Ourain rugs are known for their thick and lush wool which has been known to provide warmth in the snow covered Atlas Mountains. The reverse side is double hand knotted and in Morocco provides beauty and function for both winter and summer seasons.  The end of this weave is finished with wool tassels, while the other side represents the beginning of the weave.
